A Web With Meaning

This is what I like most about the web. The idea that we can mark data up to allow machines to infer some meaning in our content. This is definitely a minority affair right now. Most of the effort that I put into things like Microformats are for my own entertainment. One day though, things will change. Already Internet Explorer and Firefox are planning for native support of Microformats. Soon it will become expected of you to have your events and contacts marked up so that others can use them seamlessly as they surf.
